Obituary of John Charles Stella

John Charles Stella, age 79, of Eagan, MN passed away on January 7th after a long and well-fought battle with Parkinson’s. John was born August 24, 1943 in St. Paul, MN. After John graduated from St. Bernard’s H.S. in 1961, he went onto earn his B.A. and MBA from the University of St. Thomas. John was a humble, kind, and generous man who was rich in faith and loved his family. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eileen Stella; his wife, Colleen (Stanton) Stella; and son, James (Roxie) Stella. He is survived by his wife, Monica (Dalsin) Stella; sister Linda Stella; children, Thomas (Melinda) Stella; Michael (Julie) Stella; Teri (David) Gunnarson; and Sherri (Michael Salvatore) Stella; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Family would like to thank Brighton Hospice team and the staff of Lexington Pointe for their kindness and care of both John and Monica. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Eagan, MN on Friday, January 20th at 10am. Visitation one hour prior at 9am. Luncheon with storytelling to follow at the church. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.sjn.org. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Bridging.org, where John and Monica have volunteered for years.
